Poem for tonight

Ripples.

Ripples, ripples ripples,

Watch them drift away,

Ripples, ripples, ripples,

In water which we play.

Ripples, ripples, ripples,

We feel the gentle affect

Ripples, ripples ripples

Let’s gradually deflect.

Ripples, ripples, ripples,

Be mindful how they flow,

Ripples, ripples, ripples,

Watch the stones we throw.

Ripples, ripples, ripples,

Each affects the other,

Ripples, ripples, ripples,

Careful who might suffer.

Ripples, ripples, ripples,

Make them gently kind,

Ripples, ripples, ripples

Our senses realigned.

Ripples, ripples, ripples,

Send thoughts out to you

Ripples, ripples, ripples

Negative thoughts subdue.

Been thinking about the death of Sinead o’ Connor and moved by the tributes, but it was harder for people to stand up for her when she was here and having her say. This poem is my take on

Why, and what? do I ask, you say,

coz I don’t ****ing know the way.

I’m lost and angry, all churned up,

gathering speed I may erupt.

Bloody speed bumps in the road,

crisis over, but still they goad.

Can’t defer the way ahead,

so shine your light, show me instead.

Don’t just sit there looking smug,

see the darkness, pull a plug.

Are you bothered for my safety,

or do you stare, and just think ‘crazy’!!

Get of yer arse and follow on,

watch me rant and holler song.

Tearing hair, a wild banshee,

there’s a tender woman inside me.

Start to tire, eyes grow heavy,

still you watch, I paid my levy.

Exhausted…stop, I’ll crumple here,

I’m fine just now, just a silent tear.

Those who watch my perceived madness,

sitting, sinking into sadness.

Don’t turn up to mourn my grave,

I’ll just have time then for the brave.
